Appointed the inaugural 2025 Texas State Classical Musician, Juilliard and SMU graduate, Alecia Lawyer, calls her work “Wildcatting in the Arts,” boldly drilling new wells of possibility in the traditionally rigid field of classical music.
Leading from the stage as well as the board room, Alecia is in demand as a speaker and consultant in wide ranging fields from the intelligence sector and medical field to technology start ups, AI, and commercial real estate. One of Musical America’s Top 30 Influencers and Houston’s Top 50 Most Influential Women, Alecia is a senior fellow of American Leadership Forum; serves on the boards of Houston Youth Symphony and Houston Center for Musical Arts; the Advisory Board for Texas Music Festival; and is an artistic advisor for the St. Barth Music Festival in the French Virgin Islands. She is also an advisor to the Eden Arts Festival in Utah. She has two fabulous sons with her husband, Larry, and loves their weekend Harley rides.
